Dear Makis:
I
would like to thank you for your recent letter
advising me
of your idea to create a permanent commemorative
monument dedicated to the medal winners of the
Olympic Games and a "Symposium" to
honor these athletes in the original home of The
Games in Ancient Olympia.
I congratulate you on developing this noble idea
and am pleased to endorse your efforts to link
the modern Olympic Games with hallowed traditions
of the ancients to Honor those victors of the Games
who bring us all honor through their healthy competition
and display of athletic achievement in a peaceful
world.
With my best wishes for your every success in this
endeavor, I am,
Sincerely,
Andrew A. Athens
