Members
of the Olympians Council at The Monument of
the Immortals, either individually or collectively,
shall be called upon to advise the Board of
Directors on matters pertaining to the perpetuation
of Olympic values throughout the world.
Although
membership in the Olympians Council is voluntary,
non-binding, and open to any athlete having
qualified for competition in the Modern Games,
at minimum the Board of Directors strongly
encourages individual Olympiads to be represented
by male and female athletes from each of the
five Olympic continents (Africa, America, Asia,
Australia, and Europe).
Members
of the Olympians Council shall receive no compensation
for their services.
In
order to be added to the roster of the Olympians
Council, athletes having qualified for Olympic
competition up through and including Torino
2006 are encouraged to submit a letter of interest
accompanied by a curriculum vitae, professional
resume, or biographical sketch documenting
a post-Olympics commitment to Olympism to the
attention of the Search Committee at:
