TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
I am very happy to encourage, endorse and support the
efforts to establish a Monument of the Immortals
at the site of ancient Olymbia in Greece, dedicated
to the winners of the Olymbic Cames, with their names
permanently inscribed in marble.
This is the most worthy and meritorious idea which, if
materialized, will have multiple and far-reaching benefits
for Greece and Hellenism in general it would be a source
of pride and inspiration for our people and a constant
reminder for all the World of the eternal principles
of the Olympic Spirit and their diachronic importance
to humanity.
Dated this 1st day of August, 2002.
