Dear Mr Havadjias,
I am writing in
full support of the concept of a monument and museum
at the Ancient side of Olympia, Greece in honor of modern
Olympic Athletes. This monument would indeed exemplify
the true spirit of Olympism as the modern games return
to their homeland in the year 2004. This idea would truly
support the ideals of Athens 2004 in maintaining both
the purity and classical traditions of the Olympic games.
Both Athens 2004 and the Organisation for Olympic Truce
are organisations of profound impact and universal ideals.
The Order of Ahepa supports and promotes these ideals
as the universal and timeless ideals of both the Ancient
and modern Olympic Spirit.
The Ahepa continues to promote these ideals as well as
the games themselves as they return to Mother Hellas.
I congratulate you o-n your efforts and your hard work
o-n behalf of the finest traditions of the Olympics.
I believe that the success of the Athens 2004 and the
Olympic Truce endeavors would be greatly assisted by
these fine efforts. The monument and the museum would
be a lasting tribute to Olympia, Athens 2004 and the
Olympic Spirit.
I would be happy to support your efforts in any way that
I can to continue this most important project.
Sincerely,
James F. Dimitriou
